My name is Nathan Hughey, and I am an attorney practicing personal injury law throughout the state of South Carolina. Officially, I am managing partner in a successful law firm headquartered in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, with an additional office in Charleston, South Carolina. However, what I really do is help others in South Carolina and neighboring states know their rights and assist individuals and families when those rights have been abused by others.
As a fourth generation South Carolinian, I attended College of Charleston earning a degree in Political Science in 1996. From there, I attended the University of South Carolina School of Law, graduating in 2000. That same year, I joined Hood Law Firm of Charleston, later becoming partner while defending nursing homes, large corporations and insurance companies in complex personal injury cases, much like those I represent for plaintiffs today.
After 7 years, I chose to open Hughey Law Firm, where I now represent those injured in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, auto accidents, slip and falls and more. I have successfully argued before numerous state and federal courts in South Carolina, as well as in front of the South Carolina Supreme Court. I am a member of the American Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar, the Charleston County Bar, the American Association for Justice, and the South Carolina Association for Justice, among others. Formerly, I was a member of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association.
In addition to my time as founder and managing partner of Hughey Law Firm, I strongly believe in giving back to our local communities through community service and sponsorships and am an active member in the church. Also, I enjoy coaching youth sports for my three children Stokes, Bella and Sam. When not representing clients, you are likely to find me on the boat in the summers and in Williams-Brice Stadium cheering for my Gamecocks on Saturdays in the fall.
